Kendal firm bucks recession with turnover and job increases

A KENDAL IT firm has bucked the recession by increasing turnover by a third in the last 12-months and has created eight new jobs.

Meantime, based in the Riverside Business Park, provides bespoke software for local authorities, social networking sites and tour operators.

The company, which was established five years ago with just one employee, has grown its turnover by 300 per cent solely through word of mouth and repeat business.

The firm says it hopes to create a further two jobs within the next year to service its clients, which also includes blue chip companies and educational establishments.

Fenner Pearson, managing director of Meantime, said: “We’re very excited about the company’s growth and tremendously proud of our achievements, especially over the last couple of years, but we are managing it carefully.

“It would be great to increase our recruitment to match the business opportunities being presented to us but we are determined to protect and preserve our company culture, and that requires a measured approach.”
