A YORKSHIRE Dales food firm has launched a new service to tap into a forecasted rise in self-catering and caravanning holidays.

The Country Harvest shopping outlet and deli-cafe, on the A65 at Ingleton, has unveiled a new order and collect service to capitalise on a growning trend for people holidaying at home.

After placing an order, the groceries can then be collected the following day as they travel past on their way to their holiday destination.

People can either pick up a ‘shopping list’ in store, visit the website (www.country-harvest.co.uk) and order on-line, or download the list and ring through their order.

“Country Harvest is ideally situated to tap into this market,” said foodhall manager Richard Simmonds. “Our shopping list has all the elements required to make sure their self-catering holiday gets off to a good start.

“Everything you need for a hearty breakfast, a snack through the day, evening meals, lots of sweet treats – and even a glass of wine in the evening.”

For details about the Country Harvest order and collect service, visit the website, or call 015242-42223.

Cumbria Tourism’s latest Tourism Trendspotter research revealed that 25 per cent of those who intend to take a UK holiday this year are likely to opt for self-catering accommodation, with 16 per cent likely to take a camping or caravanning holiday.
