THE UK’s biggest mountain biking demonstration event has attracted more than 400 riders to a South Lakeland village.
The Big Demo Weekend, at Wheelbase, in Staveley, on March 13 and 14, was the third running of the annual event, which gives riders the chance to try out one of 140 demonstration bikes from manufacturers such as Trek, Cannondale, Marin and Yeti, in the Kentmere valley.
James Dalton, director of Wheelbase, said: “It went really well. Everyone had a good time. The trails were really dry and the sun was shining.
“It gives people a chance to try out different designs of bikes and that helps if they decide to buy a new bike in the future.”
