A HOTEL and leisure business is set to celebrate its diamond anniversary this year.
English Lakes Hotels, Resorts and Venues will mark 60 years since it purchased the Low Wood Hotel, near Ambleside.
The company, which is owned and run by Simon and Tim Berry and their two cousins, now consists of six properties – Low Wood Bay, and Waterhead, near Ambleside, Storrs Hall, the Wild Boar Inn, near Windermere, Lancaster House, Lancaster, and the Midland Hotel in Morecambe.
It employs more than 450 staff, has a turnover of £16m and welcomed 140, 000 guests to its properties in the last financial year.
