HAWKSHEAD Relish was represented at an event in Prague as part of a new Government strategy to boost food exports.
The Lake District company’s was there to highlight the potential of accessing overseas markets.
Director Maria Whitehead said: “This initiative to support and encourage small businesses like ourselves will serve to increase economic growth in isolated areas and build on overseas sales for the industry as a whole.”
Hawkshead Relish, which produces an acclaimed range of artisan preserves, was recognised for its export achievements in 2010, with a ‘Passport to Export’ award for Cumbria. The company, established in 1999, began an export programme with UK Trade and in only three years established sales in 26 countries over four Continents.
