TWO Turkish barbers have launched a new business in South Lakeland which offers customers a warm welcome with hot towels and a close shave.

Fuat Nas and Ersin Irmakli, the owners of Kendal’s new Turkish Barbers, said they aimed to bring something different to the town.

Their Highgate business offers men’s haircuts, female eyebrow threading, head massage, ear hair burning, traditional hot towel washes and Turkish shaves using a naked blade.

Mr Irmakli said their enterprise, which has been redecorated in red and black, would offer more time and give more attention to customers than most people would expect to get in a salon.

He added: “I think people in Kendal will like a traditional Turkish barber experience. It’s very different. It leaves you feeling fresh and looking ten years younger. Customers say they feel like a newborn.

“It’s not a ten-minute experience. We take care of everything. We give smart haircuts for men and we also take care of people’s nose and ears – their whole face.”

The pair hope to expand to offer further services including Turkish massage and women’s haircuts.
