2:38pm Tuesday 10th February 2009 in Cancercare By Lizzie Anderson
A MORNING of tea, coffee, biscuits and chatter has raised more than £500 for the CancerCare Silver Jubilee Appeal.
The event, held at the Newby Bridge Hotel, was organised by Gareth McKeever, conservative parliamentary candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale, and his family and saw around 200 people show up to support the cause.
“It is really important to support local charities like CancerCare, as we can see the good they are doing first hand,” said Mr Mckeever. “CancerCare is part of the fabric of Westmorland. It is a charity that has touched everybody, whether directly or indirectly.”
