4:15pm Thursday 26th March 2009 in Cancercare By Lizzie Anderson
WOMEN in the South Lakes and North Lancashire have been invited to relax, unwind and indulge themselves at a guilt-free pamper session in aid of CancerCare.
With the CancerCare StarWalk fast approaching, the local charity is hosting extra-special pamper parties, which are sure to be welcomed by those in training for the 15km sponsored night walk.
The charity has teamed up with professional therapists from Sue Shields Face & Body Spa in Carnforth, Body Shop consultant and professional make-up artist, Nici Hewitson, and Juniper Fashions to ensure local lovelies experience the ultimate girls night in.
Nicki Hearne, fundraising co-ordinator, said: “There will be relaxing hand massages, soothing foot treatments, make-up master classes, a fashion show, wine and cheese and a host of other treats.”
CancerCare provides free advice, counselling and therapeutic services and relies on the generosity of local people.
Events like StarWalk, which takes place at 9pm on Saturday, May 9, are vital to its survival.
To sign up for StarWalk visit www.starwalk.org.uk or contact CancerCare on 01524 381820.
The pamper days are being held at the Lancaster House Hotel in Lancaster at 7.30pm on Thursday, April 16 and Castle Green Hotel in Kendal at 7.30pm on April 20.
Tickets cost £10 and include all treatments and refreshments.
