RATS, flies and strewn rubbish are affecting the lives of a group of Kendal residents who have joined the outcry against South Lakeland District Council's waste collection scheme.
Residents in Dr Manning's Yard say the overflowing bins near their home are a result of the council's fortnightly collections and claim that a health hazard is being created because there are not enough receptacles to put waste in.
Their complaints echo those made in a recent edition of The Westmorland Gazette by the residents of Sandes Court, who described their overflowing bins as disgusting.
