TWO Cumbrian shops will take over post office duties on a part time basis following the closure of the local branches in October.
Dent Post Office has been replaced with a hosted service at Dent Stores, on Main Street, which will offer a range of services and products including car tax, passport application checking and on-demand euros.
The service will be available between 9am and 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
At Brough, the hosted service will be available at The Reading Rooms, on Main Street, on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9am and 1pm and from 1pm until 6pm on Thursdays.
Following a six-week public consultation on the Area Plan for Cumbria, eight Post Office branches are to get outreach services while 34 have been permanently closed.
