STAFF at two South Lakeland dealerships have tested their strength and skills in a gruelling competition based on the legendary Land Rover G4 Challenge.
The six men from the two separate Land Rover showrooms put themselves through the G4 Trek competition at the Land Rover Experience in Skipton.
The teams comprised Jason Hadwin, Alistair Johnson and Adrian Lomax, from Lakeland Land Rover, at Torver; and Joe Newton, Gary Wade and James Willison, from Kentdale Land Rover at Kendal.
They competed in a number of heats, including technical off-road driving, navigation and mountain biking to test initiative, communication and product tasks.
Colin Shepherd, dealer principal at Kentdale Land Rover, said: "The event was a fantastic team-building opportunity and a chance for the staff here to prove the depth of their knowledge, their physical fitness and mental agility - all before sleeping under canvass during the two-day event."
Jason Hadwin, dealer principal at Lakeland Land Rover, added: "The bigger Land Rover G4 Challenge programme is recognised in adventure racing circles as one of the toughest challenges around - so giving the team a chance to hone their physical and mental abilities while demonstrating their spirit of adventure first-hand has been a fantastic experience."
The G4 Trek is based on the world famous Land Rover G4 Challenge - a three-week adventure race that has driving at its core.
Following a gruelling selection process, teams from 18 nations combine off-road driving in spectacular locations with mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, orienteering and abseiling to compete for first place.
