DOZENS of bags of rancid rubbish were plucked from the banks of Windermere, prompting calls for visitors and locals to respect the Lakeland landscape.

Fifty volunteers, including canoeists, divers and schoolchildren, took part in the annual lake clean-up campaign - Winderclean - which saw more than 60 bags of rubbish collected from the shoreline.
