TWO distinguished business people will give an insight into their companies' success at the latest enterprise masterclass being organised by Furness Enterprise next week.

Edwin Booth, chairman of regional supermarket chain Booths, and Sarah Dunning, chief executive of Westmorland Ltd, will speak at the event, which is being held at the Lanternhouse, Ulverston, on Wednesday, April 23, from 6pm.

Edwin Booth is the fifth generation of his family to control the chain, which has 26 stores across the north of England, employs nearly 3,000 staff and generates a turnover of more than £230 million.

Sarah Dunning is in charge of Britain's only family-run motorway services at Tebay, while Westmorland's portfolio of businesses also includes Rheged, near Penrith. The firm employs more than 500 people, and Sarah was named Cumbria Young Director of the Year 2006 by the Institute of Directors.
