THEIR business has always been books but a Kendal couple are expanding into the glass-making market after snapping up one of the town's long-running firms.
After 40 years at the helm of Westmorland Glass, Les Bull and Ted Capstick have announced they are selling their Shap Road business to fellow Kendalians Paul and Ruth Farrar, of PR Books.
The couple, who own a string of bookshops in England, including the Lake District chain Henry Roberts, have snapped up the 30,000 sq ft factory on Shap Road so they can expand their international book wholesale company.

After refurbishing the site, the couple have said they may also expand the Westmorland Glass business, which will retain its 15 employees and could take on more staff.
