The Ennerdale YHA, Gillerthwaite about 3.5 miles up the valley from Bowness Knott, webcam shows the view from the common room looking up the valley with Pillar and Pillar rock in the background.
The image updated every 2 hours from 8am until 4 pm, is captured on a webcam powered by the YHA's own hydroelectric source, 'making it one of the most energy efficient webcams in the country.' The remote webcam is 18km from the nearest exchange with the image travelling underwater along the bottom of Ennerdale Water for 4km.
Worth the view!
