Ann Taylforth, Manager of Barrow Tourist Information Centre commented, "We are delighted to continue our work with Richard of the Walking to Health Initiative and our colleagues at Dalton with Newton Town Council to produce these new routes. Walking is a great activity everyone can enjoy and is extremely beneficial to health. It is free and for those people unable to commit to organised walks, the new leaflet will allow people to explore Dalton at their own pace and with the light nights are just right for an evening stroll."
Richard Scott, for Walking to Health, said: "We saw a gap in the provision for an easy to read walks leaflet for Dalton. I asked Jean Povey (Ulverston Walking Festival Organiser) to research the routes and draw the maps, with directions and historical snippets, which she made a great job of. We are grateful for the support from Dalton Council and Barrow Borough. It should be useful in helping local people to get out more, to keep healthy, and also a visitors' guide for Dalton - from Abbey to Zoo!"
