HAWKSHEAD is the quintessential Lakeland village, nestling beneath majestic mountains, and a mere stone's throw from the shores of a tranquil lake.

Small but perfectly formed, Hawkshead is one of the Lake’s most popular villages. But don’t let that put you off. Once you’ve left your car on the edge of the village it’s car free. As a result it’s hard to believe that such a busy place can be so quiet. Not only that but the place never seems crowded in the way that other popular Lakes towns and villages do, even when the car parks are full of coaches. In fact, it’s hard to say how such a small village can manage to absorb so many people.
