HUNDREDS of young dancers from across the region will be taking to the Brewery stage next week.
Now in its seventh year, the Kendal arts centre’s Brewery Dance Platform runs from Monday, March 22, until Thursday, March 25 (7pm), showcasing a wealth of talent from primary and secondary schools and further education establishments.
Brewery dance officer Helen Moffitt explained that the festival - which is part of national dance initiative U.Dance - included a few new and exciting developments, including Boyz Sports Moves, which brings the curtain down on the festival on the Thursday with a ‘boys only’ day of dance.
Helen and Brewery community dance officer Sarah Lockwood have been around several schools to encourage boys to “get up and dance,” and working with local Tae Kwon Do expert Grant Doyle.
Meanwhile, Helen is looking for more dancers the Dads and Lads project, which will also take place on the platform’s final day.
