FURNESS folk turned out in force to ensure a revival of a gardening show got off to a flyer.

More than 300 exhibited the fruits of their labour as Lindal and Marton Residents’ Association hosted its first annual horticultural show at Lindal Moor Cricket Club Pavilion.

The villages have not held an event for several years after the WI disbanded, and one of the organisers David Quinn said the day was a success.

Classes included flowers, pot plants, home industries, vegetables and eggs, with special classes for children plus face painting by hairdresser Sarah Kelly.
