Report: Barbon & District Agricultural Society show

BARBON and District Agricultural Society held their annual show on Saturday, August 21, at Barbon Manor Park.

This year, for the first time, the children enjoyed activities of making a sheep on a stick, which were paraded around by the children and they also made hay bonnets. For the second year running, a marquee lunch was held and afterwards the president John Pedley presented the trophies. The results were as follows:

Open trial. Judge: T. Smith, Hebden Bridge. Sir Roger Fulford Memorial Cup: M. Priestley, Tweedsmuir. Best Run before noon: S. Thexton with Nap. Results: 1 M. Priestley, Lovat, 90; 2 M. Beaty, Spy, 85; 3 Mrs K. Cropper, Try, 82. Local open: 1 S.Thexton.
