BBC cameraman Mark Smith focuses on fundraiser for Cumbria Wildlife Trust

THE local support group of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust has persuaded Mark Smith, film cameraman on the BBC’s Frozen Planet series, to give a talk in aid of trust funds at Sedbergh School’s Queen's Hall on February 9 (7.30pm). The ace lensman is an ‘old boy’ of Sedbergh School (Evans House, 1974-1979) and will show film and stills in his highly anticipated Penguins and Polar Bears - the filming of Frozen Planet talk.

The event is part of Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s 50th anniversary year. Trust senior fundraising officer Hazel Jones said they were delighted that Mark had agreed to give a talk. She added: “All the staff here at the trust loved the Frozen Planet series. What a great way to start our 50th anniversary celebrations and help us on our way towards our ambitious fundraising target of £100,000 for this year. We also want to thank Sedbergh School for hosting this fascinating event.”

Tickets are available from Sedbergh bookshop Sleepy Elephant on 015396-21770 and online at www.sedberghbooktown.co.uk/webshop/
