ONE of the region’s creative heavyweights has a new exhibition running at Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre.
Ian Walton’s Breathturn sees the highly-regarded Ambleside-based artist showing a selection of mixed media work, which reflects a constant search for the unusual, the random, the ambiguous and the thought provoking.
Ian says that process is a key element in the eventual discoveries and outcomes of the pieces: “They are works which relate to experimentation, to memory and to presence, and are linked to the passing of time and the changes which occur.”
Ian’s mixed media can sometimes be anecdotal and include fragments, impressions and responses to travels and particular references to the histories of different locations.
Breathturn runs in the Brewery’s Sugar Store Gallery until May 19.
