PAINTINGS by Chris Rigby take centre stage in Gavagan Art’s latest exhibition at Settle’s Linton Court Gallery.
Expeditionist features breathtaking views of the West coast of Ireland, the monumental cliffs of Shetland and Cumbria’s Crinkle Crags and Steeple.
The show highlights the diverse locations the award-winning painter has chosen as subject matter for his detailed and carefully considered watercolour and oil paintings.
Chris, who trained in Illustration at Falmouth College of Art, says he wants to make art that has a massive emotional impact.
He adds: “I want to make art that leaves you in no doubt that you have seen something worth seeing.
“I want an art that lives and breathes.
“For me, the urge to paint is driven by a sense of enquiry into the nature of things and the need to connect.”
The exhibition runs until the end of August.
Linton Court Gallery is open Thursday-Saturday, 11am-4pm.
