SOUTH Lakeland residents are being given chance to see the work of of four world-renowned Spanish artists before their exhibition moves to London at the end of the month.

Artwork at the Leck Gallery, near Kirkby Lonsdale, will have a distinctly Mediterranean feel thanks to a display of exclusive pieces from Antonio De Felipe, Agusti Puig, Adria Pina and Carmen Bayarri.

The pop art work of Antonio De Felipe will be on sale from a private collection, while locals will be impressed by painter, sculptor and printmaker Agusti Puig.

The exhibition is completed by two exceptional and unique paintings on show by pop artist Adria Pina and two remarkable designer tables by industrial designer Carmen Bayarri.

Leck Gallery is a new and unique contemporary gallery and is the brainchild of art lover, Janet Nuttall.

The exhibition will be its debut - and Janet has certainly pulled off a significant coup with internationally-revered work exclusively showcased at her venue.

Puig’s work was the inspiration for the Oscar-winning performance by Spanish actress Penelope Cruz's character in Woody Allen film, Vicki Christina Barcelona. His artwork was featured in the film and Cruz visited his studio for inspiration.

De Felipe’s work has appeared on the front cover of fashion magazine, Vogue.

"We are delighted to have opened the gallery with the work of such internationally-renowned artists and to be able to offer for sale work from the likes of Antonio De Felip is a fantastic coup for Leck Gallery,” said Janet. “

"To think that our new gallery has secured this work before it moves to London on November 30 makes me extremely proud."

Janet explained the gallery has been designed to provide an 'un-rushed experience'.

The Leck Gallery main exhibition space is situated on the first floor of a converted coach house, situated within the extensive gardens of The Old Vicarage in the village of Leck.
