Half a Sixpence, Queen Katherine School, Kendal

AN AMAZING cast of actors and singers coupled with excellent stage direction, dancing and a fantastic band combined to make the most entertaining and feelgood show imaginable.

Having previously seen the Tommy Steele film, I was doubtful as to how this would translate but the stage version was brilliant and the QKS team excelled as ever in bringing this to life.

From the opening scene in Shalford’s drapery store through to the end, the audience was treated to big stage numbers fantastically choreographed and performed with energy.

All the actors performed with fantastic confidence and sang beautifully, and I loved the show so much that I went four times. From the first night it was good, by the last it was fantastic and the cast received a number of standing ovations in the final scenes. A show to be really proud of; how can they top that?
