KENDAL Art Society's annual exhibition opens at Stricklandgate House on Saturday, August 13, and runs until Saturday, August 27.
Among the artists showing in what's become one of the must-see exhibitions of the year, will be Veronica Bowd. The Kendal-based artist - who trained at Canterbury College of Art - is inspired by the patterns of people and landscapes, painting mainly in watercolour and gouache.
Also included in the line up of talented creators will be Gill Impey, who likes working in all media but says she probably prefers to paint people and children rather than landscapes. She studied art at Luton and has painted all her life, although she's been more creative since retiring.
Featured will be more than 200 paintings ranging across oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, mixed media and pen and wash, plus sculpture and glass.
The Kendal exhibition is open daily except Sunday, from 10am-5pm; it closes on the last day at 4pm.
