KENDAL'S Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry is asking for the public’s support by making and donating mini woollen sheep to sell and auction off during the weekend of the Kendal Wool Gathering, on October 29/30.

Money raised will go towards Enriched by Moments, Lakeland Arts’ innovative programme of creative workshops for people living with dementia.

Windermere in Wool sessions run on Saturday, October 22, and from Monday-Thursday, October 24-27, from 11am-3pm, where those taking part can help create a giant rag rug inspired by the Cumbrian landscape.

Woolly Workshops are staged from October 24-28, 11am-3pm, aimed at creating a sheep for a Handmade Herd and help decorate MOLLI museum with wool.

Plus, Learn to Crochet with Sandra Kendal runs the same week but from Thursday-Sunday, October 27-30, noon-3pm.

Yarn Bombing MOLLI continues throughout the week courtesy of local knitters, crafty crocheters, needle felters, community groups and more, all under the creative eye of LA's resident crochet artist Sandra, filling the place with woolly creations and quirky textile installations; Yarn Bombing culminates on the Saturday and Sunday (October 29/30).

The Handmade Herd Sheep Auction is on October 30 at 3pm.

Shannon Quigley, learning officer for Lakeland Arts, is keen for people to go woolly and create towards the Handmade Herd, at home.

A pattern is available to download on the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry's website at www.lakelandmuseum.org.uk.
