A RETROSPECTIVE and sale of paintings by one of the region's most respected landscape painters is being held at Upfront Gallery. Work by the late James Ingham Riley will be on show at the gallery near Hutton-in-the-Forest until May 7. Jim - who died in 2015 and was an esteemed member of the Lake Artists Society - had a lifetime interest in climbing and hill walking in the Lake District, Wales, the Pennines and Scotland, which was beautifully reflected in his sought after watercolours, that captured mountains, rocky becks, old farm buildings and the dramatic effects of the weather on the landscape. Ten per cent of all sales will go to the Dementia Society. Upfront is open from 10.30am-4.30pm (closed Mondays).
