ONE of the must-see exhibitions at the moment is running at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre - David Fulford's stunning The Ice Landscape. David says the strongest experiences of being in the world are bound up with being in the landscape - with travelling, walking, or simply being there. His recent oil paintings are the creative results of visits to Alaska and Iceland: “The ice landscape is full of paradoxes: shrinking alarmingly and yet beautiful, in motion yet seemingly still," explains the Kendal-based artist. "The sense of energy in a glacier is overwhelming and there is no term of reference as to scale or distance. It is ineffable and quite possibly unpaintable.” The Ice Landscape is on show in the Brewery's Sugar Store Gallery until January 6.
