THE Lakes Ensemble shares the stage with female singers Ottovoce, on Friday, May 29 (7pm), at St Thomas’s Church, Milnthorpe, in a fund-raising concert for Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Well-known for their first class performances, predominantly to the wedding and corporate functions sector, the Lakes Ensemble - soprano, Tracie Penwarden, mezzo-soprano, Wendy Sharrock, flautists, Sarah Barkway and David Edmonds, augmented by pianist Gill Allen - decided they wanted to help a locally-profiled charity.
A subsequent - and chance - meeting between Tracie and Ian Minto, the community fund-raiser for Derian House Children’s Hospice, brought the charity to their attention and the ensemble decided to put on a concert with Ottovoce, who are directed by Tracie.
The programme of music will include plenty of popular pieces.
Tickets are £7 and available at the door.
