AS FAR as illustrating fantasy and science fiction book covers goes they don’t come much better than those created by the incredibly gifted Arnside artist Geoff Taylor.
Geoff is also a wildlife painter of the highest calibre who has exhibited far and wide and also produces the covers for the fantasy role-playing Games Workshops series, such as White Dwarf and Warhammer.
Geoff has created magical covers for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings classics and put together the illustrations for the cover of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds album.
One of the Lancaster-born painter’s first commissions was in 1976 for Philip K. Dick’s book Counter Clock World.
His latest art exhibition Fantasy and Wildlife merges all three creative worlds in which he orbits and runs at the Dock Museum, at Barrow, until August 30.
The museum is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10am-5pm and Saturday and Sunday, from 11am-5pm.
Some of his artwork can also been seen at www.geofftaylor.btinternet.co.uk
