GREEN Door Studios has signed up its 100th member. The well-known local artists’ co-operative - which has worked hard to overcome the knock-back of February 2010 when its studio premises on Highgate, Kendal, were burnt down – has reached its highest membership since it was set up 16 years ago. The latest artist to join is Simon Wood – a printmaker from Water Yeat, Ulverston – who joined at the same time as launching Impress Originals, the newest Green Door Collective – a group of independent contemporary printmakers who are connected through their Green Door membership and their use of the Brewery Arts Centre’s print studio.
