A SOLD out Cumbria music festival has announced a celebration of ale to go alongside.
Thirsty fans listening to the likes of Elbow and Snoop Dogg at Kendal Calling this year can expect hand-picked local beers and other tipples at its Real Ale Festival.
Organisers of the festival at Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe, are still to reveal the final line-up but the menu of beers is out in the open.
Resident beer enthusiast and curator Jamie Smith says: ‘The region is renowned for its love of ale and producing some of the highest quality beers in the country - what better way to enjoy a weekend of sunshine and music in the fields than with a decent drink?
"We’ve got some breweries returning this year alongside some new faces and guest ales, we’re very excited!’
On the liquid line-up is Tirril Brewery's Old Faithful, Oh Dear, Lakeland Golden, Competition Winner, Lancaster Brewery's Blonde, Strawberry Cider, Kend’ale, Raspberry Rose, Ennerdale Brewery's Wild Ennerdale, Cumbrian Legendary's Loweswater Gold and Old School Brewery's Hopscotch.
Beer lovers can also try out guest ales from Ulverston's Stringers Beer, Ulverston Brewing Co and Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery.
CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) will be on hand recruiting new members and spreading the joys of ale to any novice drinkers among the festival-going throng.
There is even an exclusive competition to design your own beer and see it on tap at the Reel Ale on-site bar from July 30 to August 2.
Visit the Kendal Calling website to pick the colour, strength, taste and name and your beer could be appearing on site at the Real Ale Tent.
