Two more tipples from a fantastic range

ANOTHER two tipples from Marks and Spencer, where the range of wines and beers is so good, I can’t resist.
Once more, the wine comes from the company’s excellent mid range – Pemberton Pinot Noir 2011. The Australian area of Pemberton lies south of the Margret River making it a cool climate wine which provides the Pinot Noir grape with ideal growing conditions, just like in its heartland of Burgundy in France.
From Fonty Pools Vineyard this bottle is no exception to the grape’s ‘romantic’ reputation. With a stunning cherry colour and vibrant nose of red berries and spice, followed by hints of oak and gentle acidity with a wave of cherry fruit in the mouth and a lingering finish, it’s an ideal match with lamb or duck and a real find at £9.99 a bottle.
The beer this week is again from the Adnams Southwold Brewery in Suffolk and is their rather fine blonde ale.
Created as a seasonal ale, it has been made with a blend of malted barley and hops which combine to give a full flavoured beer with citrus notes and a refreshing finish.
A great match with chicken dishes or on its own, available at £2.19 a bottle from Kendal Marks and Spencer.
