THE BREWERY Arts Centre in Kendal is one of my favourite places in the world.

Not only is there a cinema, a theatre, live music venue, and an art gallery, there is also a cafe, bar and restaurant.

You can get food in the Warehouse Cafe, Vats Bar or The Grainstore.

There is the chance to try some lovely fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, either as tapas or a main, which you can enjoy with a range of sides.

Some fantastic desserts are also on offer, plus a children’s menu.

But whenever I visit, I find it hard to look beyond the pizza menu – and there are some fantastic pizzas to choose from.

Being a fan of hot food, I went for the American hot red onion, peppers, pepperoni and chillies, which was priced at a reasonable £7.50.

As I was extra peckish, I added some potato wedges (£2.65) and two dips, sour cream and tomato salsa (55p each).

The pizzas are just beautiful. The bases are thin and crispy, and each pizza is unique, the varying shapes adding extra charm and highlighting the fact that each is hand-made.

This particular pizza was fantastic, while the wedges and dips complemented it perfectly. There’s always a good atmosphere in the Vats Bar and adjoining Grainstore.

Whether you’re heading there for the quiz night each Monday, or a pint before catching a film or gig, you’re more than likely to enjoy yourself.
