Fusion of fine art and textiles creates a natural flow at Kendal gallery

THE first thing that struck me about Frances Winder and Jan Hicks' River exhibition was the mix of colours.
Varying shades of browns, reds, blues, greens and more that give the Brewery's Sugar Store Gallery a warm and natural feel.
River is a successful fine art and textiles collaboration between Frances and Jan, an artistic exploration of the River Kent from its source at Kentmere to the sea at Sandside, with the creative results on show at the Kendal arts centre's first floor gallery until January 13.
