THIS pet owners’ guide could prove a useful gift for those people who say that having a dog is the only thing that gets them out and about.
Believed to be the first walking guide specifically designed to include the whole of the national park, it features 20 circular walks ranging in length from 1.5 to 8.5 miles.
As part of his research, Peter Naldrett spoke to local dog owners to find their favourite routes. He then spent weeks doing the walks to ensure the chosen ones were truly suitable.
The result is a very user-friendly book. As well as detailed directions, each route is accompanied by a map and handy advice such as whether walker and dog are likely to encounter livestock.
A useful touch is the handy list of conveniently situated small animal veterinary practices.
