HIGHLY thought of Cumbrian poet Norman Nicholson is the subject of a talk by Professor Brian Whalley at Coniston's Brantwood next Thursday, September 29 (7.30pm). Norman, who died in 1987, was well-known for his association with Millom. His poetry is noted for its local concerns, straightforwardness of language, and inclusion of elements of common speech.
