DAZZLING duo Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston are heading to Cumbria on June 6 for a gig at Ulverston Sports Club.
Miranda is known as the stand-out bass player and spine-tingling vocalist who has brilliantly from Show of Hands, while former Scoville Units band member Rex is recognised as one of the finest young mandolin players in the UK.
On tour, Miranda and Rex will be showcasing their 2013 album ‘Sing a Full Song’ - a slick mix of traditional songs, covers and two songs written for them by Boo Hewerdine.
Unhindered by genre boundaries, the album weaves a magical mix from folk to bluegrass, trad to Americana and jazz tinged numbers.
As well as Hewerdine they feature material from singer songwriters Phil King, Paul Metsers, Sara Watkins, Oliver Knight, Staffordshire’s 2011 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Horizon winner Bill (Belinda) Jones and John Kirkpatrick.
