LEVENS Choir’s Animal Crackers summer concert is a light-hearted celebration of all creatures, great and small. The concert’s title is borrowed from Eric Whitacre’s collection of settings of verses by Ogden Nash and includes music by Bob Chilcott, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Rutter, Orlando Gibbons and Josquin Desprez as well as readings of poems by G K Chesterton, John Bunyan and John Betjeman.
The first performance on Tuesday, July 8 (7.30pm) will be in the new school hall of Cartmel Primary School followed by a concert at Kendal’s St Thomas’s Church on Saturday, July 12 (7.30pm).
Tickets from Made in Cumbria in Stramongate, Kendal, from the Londis shop at Cartmel or by telephone on 01539-730590.
