A NORTH Cumbrian music and beer festival looks set to surpass itself this year with a tremendous lineup of both.

Silloth Music And Beer Festival takes place on September 4-7, with 2014’s highlights including a Friday headline slot from the Roy G Hemmings Tribute To Motown show.

Saturday evening sees the goodtime rock’n’roll of The Quireboys take centre stage for a night of raucous rocking.

There will be a generous helping of Cumbrian talent including New England, rock legend Buzz Elliot, Cindy Hoten, re-formed indie kings Rigsby, rhythm’n’blues maestros The Mistfitz, hard-rocking AWOL, blues-rockers Secure Unit and dynamic Thin Lizzy tribute Five And Dangerous.

MORE TOP STORIES:

Other performers include folk/punk singer-songwriter Joe McCorriston and Edinburgh-based three-piece Guilty As Sin.

There’s also folk-pop rock a la Mumford & Sons in the shape of Cheshire three-piece The Robin Pierce Band and the most talked about Jam tribute band treading the boards, The Jam’d.

For the first time this year aspiring singers can get up onstage on Sunday and front a live band as part of the acclaimed Rockaoke experience.

There will be more than 75 real ales and ciders to try, from thirst-quenching old favourites to palate-pleasing newcomers.
