FOTHERINGAY have announced a show at Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre on June 18.

During the shows you can expect to hear a set of old favourites such as The Sea, Nothing More, Banks of the Nile, Knights Of the Road, Gypsy Davey, John the Gun and Late November, to name a few.

The band took the world by storm in the 1970’s with the legendary Sandy Denny at the helm, fresh and determined.

After leaving Fairport Convention, Fotheringay began writing songs that still ring in the heads of many today.

Sandy had felt that Fairport’s recently adopted traditional folk bias, no longer provided sufficient outlet for her song writing. And so Fotheringay was born.

Sadly, Sandy passed in 1978 - but her spirit lives on through her remarkable music.

Joining Fotheringay's three surviving members for this performance are Kathryn Roberts (Equation, KR & Sean Lakeman), Sally Barker (The Poozies, 'The Voice') and PJ Wright (The Dylan Project and Little Johnny England).

This is the first working line-up, put together to tour since January of 1971.
