THE Wordsworth Singers perform Pearls of the Italian Baroque at Kendal's St Thomas's Church, on Saturday, June 13 (7.30pm)

Conducted by Mark Hindley (pictured), the evening of musical opulence from 17th and 18th Century Italy, is graced by the works of Lotti, Gesualdo and Alessandro Scarlatti complementing two more substantial items, Domenico Scarlatti’s remarkable 10-part Stabat mater, and a stunning three-choir L’homme armé Mass thought to be by Carissimi. Cellist Cecily Smith and double-bass player Ian Coburn provide continuo accompaniment, together with Mark on chamber organ.
