FOR those who missed, or would like another similar five star showing of the Manchester Camerata and Jennifer Pike performance for the Lakeland Sinfonia Concert Society in December, the prominent pairing appear together again at Barrow's Forum on Thursday, February 4 (7.30pm).

Classic Night Out sees Jennifer in the solo spotlight performing once again one of the most evocative and celebrated works for the violin, Ralph Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending.

Although featuring mainly different works than their Kendal concert, the Barrow programme is packed with recognisable music with a special guest presenter guiding the audience through each piece, with apparently, a bit of audience participation thrown in; a great introduction for those new to classical music.

As well asVaughan Williams’ sublime Lark Ascending, the concert includes extracts from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Mozart's Symphony No 40, Beethoven's Symphony No 5, Mendelssohn's Symphony No 3 ‘Scottish,’

and great tunes from The Lord of the Rings by Howard Shaw.

Conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy, the Manchester Camerata is a world class chamber orchestra renowned for its dynamic performances, innovative collaborations and pioneering learning and participation work. Founded in 1972, the orchestra is home to some of the UK's finest musicians and uses music in innovative ways to redefine what an orchestra can do.

Stockport-born Jennifer has really taken the musical world by storm with her dazzling technique and amazing insight into music from Baroque to the present day. In 2002, then aged 12, she was the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year. At 15 she made debuts at the BBC Proms and Wigmore Hall, soon after becoming a BBC New Generation Artist, winner of the international London Music Masters Award and the only classical artist ever to win the South Bank Show/Times Breakthrough Award.

A sought after soloist with top orchestras worldwide, she really is a star turn.

The concert will have cabaret style unreserved seating.
