THE sounds of Beethoven, Mozart and Dvorak will drift around Askham Church later this month as part of the inaugural Askham Hall Music Festival Weekend.

Running from Friday-Sunday, February 26-28, the classical gathering features Israeli pianist Noam Greenberg and French chamber music ensemble The Ardeo Quartet. Three ticketed concerts will take place over the three days, including piano concertos and piano quartets by Mozart, string quartets by Mozart and Beethoven, and the Dvorak Piano Quintet. The opening concert is on Friday (7pm), with Saturday's concert at 5.30pm, followed by dinner in Bank Barn, Askham Hall. The finale, featuring works by Beethoven, Bartok and Mozart, is at 3pm on the Sunday.

Pianist Noam Greenberg is well known internationally as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. He studied with one of the most influential piano teachers of the late 20th Century - the late Mario Curcio – and has previously graced many European stages including Vienna, Berlin, Rome, Amsterdam and Madrid.

Noam will be joined by the Ardeo Quartet, who have won numerous international prizes and are one of the most highly praised French chamber music ensembles.

Noam Greenberg says: “I’m thrilled to be coming to give concerts in such a beautiful place, and especially looking forward to playing the Mozart concertos in this intimate chamber setting with the wonderful Ardeo Quartet from France”.
