The Lake District Folk and Acoustic Club was launched in January this year to bring a variety of quality performers to the River Bar of the Hawkshead Brewery on Staveley's Mill Yard.
The response has been overwhelming, with an average attendance of 60, creating a wonderful atmosphere at the monthly club, running on the second Friday each month.
March saw the club's first national/international guest performer, Jez Lowe. A celebrated singer songwriter from the north east, he gave a well-received performance and was very complimentary about the standard of floor singers on the night.
The next night is April 8. Bev Whelan and Celia Briar will perform on whistles, flute and Celtic harp. Both are acclaimed traditional Irish musicians appearing both in the UK and abroad.
Admission £3.
