SOUL lovers will be thrilled to hear that the North Lancs Soul Festival will return for it's tenth year this year.

The festival sees a number of acclaimed acts performing in venues across Morecambe, with DJs providing entertainment from mid-morning to the small hours.

Homage will be paid to the classic northern soul clubs of the past, including Twisted Wheel, Wigan Casino, Golden Torch and Blackpool Mecca.

The weekend kicks off with an all-day welcome party on Friday May 20, with a variety of attractions taking place throughout the following two days.

Established Northern Soul DJs with renowned record collections are to be brought together, with highlights including those from Morecambe's own Seaside Soul Club, Mastercuts and Soulbeat Radio.

The festival has been building upon its success year on year, with last year's festival attracting total of 5,500 guests attended the seven events over three days, more than 70% of them having attended previously.

Projected figures from last year's Festival suggest that it generated £263,000 worth of financial benefit for the local economy with visitors booking local accommodation and dining out in a range of local eateries.
