CENTERED around the beer hall at Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley, the Lake District Folk Weekend is set to bring a number of the best acoustic acts to the area this August.

Organised by the Lake District Folk and Acoustic Club, concerts will take place in the club's usual meeting place of The River Bar at the brewery. Other music will be on in the beer hall.

As well as the main stages at the brewery, the event will include performances all over the village including the Roundhouse, Cafe Eclec, Wilf's and the Eagle & Child.

Outdoor performances are also planned to take place.

Chris & Kellie While, Reg Meuross, Amy Kakoura & Andrew Sharpe, Paul Metsers and Jacqui MacDonald are just some of the weekend's performers.

As well as encouraging people to come and enjoy the music, the organisers are keen to recommend the surrounding countryside and it's potential for cycling and hiking.

The festival will take place on August 5, 6 and 7.

Tickets for the evening events are now on sale from the brewery & Staveley pharmacy. Many daytime events, sessions and workshops are free.
