TOURING off the back of a successful reformation and an album released last year, a band with top ten hits under their belt are to play in Lancaster.

The Blow Monkeys, who reformed in 2008 after originally being in operation in the 1980s, are showcasing tracks from their latest 2015 album 'If Not Now, When?', as well as playing old favourites.

The band have been known to spark political controversy in their songs, celebrating the gay community with 'Digging Your Scene' and exposing te injustices of political leaders in the Conservative party with 'Celebrate.'

With four albums having been made and produced since 2008, there is an abundance of fresh material from this band who’s career has lasted 30 years. Their desire to play live music has led them to touring again.

Frontman Robert Howard said: "We can’t wait to get out and play it again – It’s where it all becomes real."

The Blow Monkeys’ music evolved as the 80s progressed, going from “jazz punk,” to a more soulful jazz and then later transforming into upbeat dance music.

The band will play Lancaster's Grand Theatre on July 24.
