A young musical theatre performer from Ulverston will be touring the local area over the coming months with his all-new 'Tonight' show.

The show is being put on in order to raise money for both life at drama school next year and also to support The Alzheimer's Society.

Ben, 18, is no stranger to the local stage, having been involved with the local amateur dramatics scene since the age of eight.

Notable appearances include performing as Riff in 'West Side Story' and Billy Lawlor in '42nd Street'. On a wider scale, he is a member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, following in the footsteps of alumni such as Daniel Craig and Dame Helen Mirren.

Recently, Ben has been the brain behind several charity fundraising concerts - including his acclaimed show 'Puttin' On The Ritz' which was performed to a sell-out crowd at the Coronation Hall on April 2nd and raised over £3000 for Age UK South Lakeland.

Ben will be going to study at Guildford School of Acting in September and so the three 'Tonight' shows will be three of his last public performances in the area before his three years of training.

'Tonight' will feature a whole host of songs from the most iconic musicals of the 20th and 21st Century - classics from the likes of 'My Fair Lady' and 'Carousel' will be performed by the teen vocalist alongside modern hits from shows such as 'Shrek the Musical' and 'Matilda'.

The show will take place at Scales Malt Kiln on Saturday August 13, before moving to Grange's Victoria Hall on Saturday 3rd September and ending at The Laurel & Hardy Museum, Ulverston, on Friday 9th September.
